CHALLENGE:
The World Transformed is a festival of politics, arts and music; famed for a radically creative and participatory approach to political education. Forced online due to COVID, how can the 2020 festival recreate the collective joy of a physical event?

RESPONSE:
A brand redesign to signal a step change for TWT20. A new festival-ready web experience. And a month-long programme of ~100 sessions; including international panels, participatory workshops, strategy games, film screenings, live music, collective listening, cooking classes and even a cabaret show raising money for Sex Worker’s mutual aid funds.

IMPACT:
7k+ attendees - TWT’s most international audience ever. 500% growth in the organisation’s mailing list. National coverage in The Guardian and The Independent. The introduction of new, ongoing content formats such as the TWT FM podcast. And, most importantly, proof that a digital festival can bring people together during a crisis.
